Clinical Experience
Mr Ali Qureishi graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Anatomy and MBBS from King's College (University of London) in 2009.
His basic training included posts in ENT/Plastic surgery in the Thames Valley and East Midlands regions. During this time he was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in ENT surgery (MRCS-ENT) and Diploma in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (DOHNS) in 2011.
He went on to complete higher surgical training in all aspects of adult and children's ENT/Facial Plastic/Head and Neck Surgery in the Thames Valley Region. During this time he also undertook additional sub-specialist fellowship training in rhinoplasty/nasal septal reconstruction, endoscopic sinus surgery, facial plastic and advanced skull base surgery. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (FRCS-ORL HNS) in 2018.
During his career he has held a number of prestigious positions, including Chair of the Oxford Surgical Trainee Group, Specialist Trainee Representative for ENT Surgery and Trainee Advisory Committee Representative for Health Education Thames Valley.
He now works as an ENT Consultant at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK's leading teaching hospitals.
He cares for adults and children with a variety of general Ear, Nose and Throat conditions. In addition, he provides a tertiary service for patients from the Thames Valley Region with nose, sinus and skull base diseases and tumours. He is an active member of the Oxford Skull Base MDT and regularly operates in partnership with neurosurgeons in caring for patients with complex skull base pathologies.

Research, Publications and Presentations
Ali Qureishi has an active research interest and strives to improve patient care through research and innovation.
In 2014 he was appointed to the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) academic clinical fellowship programme. Following completion of his research (based at the University of Oxford and Kings College London) he was awarded a Post Graduate Certificate (PGCert) in Health Research from the University of Oxford and a Medical Doctorate in Research (MD Res) at Kings College London. His research looked at Molecular Targets in Head and Neck Cancer. The resulting publication in Clinical Otolaryngology was one of the most read articles of that year, receiving 3 national prizes.
So far he has authored over 30 peer review publications and has contributed towards a number of books including the Oxford Handbook of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery.
Ali Qureishi is an award winning speaker and has been invited to speak at a number of national and international meetings on a wide range of ENT conditions. These include International Federation of Otolaryngology Societies,British Academic Conference in Otolaryngology, Royal Society of Medicine, ENT Masterclass, Association of Dental Implantologists, European Congress in Head and Neck Oncology, International Rhinology Society and British Rhinology Society. He has also been invited to speak on the radio as an expert guest to advise on nose and sinus related problems.
In total he has given over 50 national and international presentations to a wide ranging audience of specialists and allied health professionals.
Teaching
Ali Qureishi is passionate about teaching, his contributions to medical education have been recognised by his appointment as an Oxford University Medical Education Fellow. He has previously organised national / regional courses in facial plastic surgery, research skills for surgeons, paediatric ENT emergencies and recruitment into ENT surgery.
In 2022 he was named Trainer of the Year in ENT surgery in the Thames Valley Region
He is the previous Consultant Lead for Head and Neck Anatomy at Oxford University and has been a surgical tutor at the Nuffield Department of Surgery.
He regularly teaches Medical Students, General Practitioners, Dentists, Hospital Doctors, Physician Associates, Nurses and has spoken at numerous schools to encourage children into a career in medicine.
In 2019 he founded and created the ENT Academy, an online, free to access, ENT Surgery website and courses aimed at doctors training in ENT and has his own YouTube Channel.
